Well, the Yankees have Dished out a Quarter of a Billion Dollars!
The Yankees are throwing around money like it is confetti at two pitchers. They have spent a quarter of a billion dollars on two pitchers - CC Sabathia - over 7 years will earn $162 million and AJ Burnett gets himself 82.5 million over 5 years.
With Sabathia, Burnett and Wang the top of the order is pretty well taken care of for the new Stadium. If the Yankees can sign Andy Pettitte that will pretty well leave Joba Chamberlain, Alfredo Aceves, Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy to fight it out for the fifth starting pitcher.
Awash with an abundance of cash all the Yankees have to do is sign Teixeira to a 7 or 8 year contract and their spending spear should be finished. There is so much pressure on the Yankee brass to win a Championship or even a World Series, in their new Stadium.
